Customer Services
Returns
If you need to return goods, please follow this simple procedure.
Obtain a Goods Returns Number
To obtain an Authorised Returns Number call the Returns Department on 01757 242 500 or fax 01757 242 808. This number must be displayed clearly on the outside of the parcel. Without it, no goods can be accepted. You will be asked for:
- A list of the goods returned being made – including product codes
- Proof of purchase -either an order or an invoice number.
- Date of purchase.
Return goods to Telephone Depot
- Full original packaging and operating instructions must be returned in case of out-of-box failure.
- Make sure you give a full written reason for the return. This makes it easier to confirm any claim.
- Ensure that the Authorised Returns Number must be obtained before any goods are returned.
Product Warranties
Manufacturers' warranties
Telephone Depot honours all manufacturers' warranties provided that defects are notified to the Returns Department and the customer accepts the responsibility for the return of goods. Should a return be necessary, the type of warranty will be confirmed when the authorised return number is issued. Customers are advised to consider the terms of the product warranties and their implications before placing an order and it is their responsibility to be aware of them. Please note that on-site maintenance of facsimile machines is undertaken only at UK mainland locations.
If no fault is found
Products found to have no fault will be returned and a charge of £10 (exc. VAT), plus carriage costs will be made to cover technical inspection costs. Manufacturers' repair charges for no fault found items are far greater and these will also be passed on. Bear in mind that, if you have any technical queries about products we have supplied, our technical help line on 01757 242 500. This may solve a problem and prevent an unnecessary return. Most manufacturers will also have a Product Help line in the User Guide. Goods returned with no fault found with no packaging or
damaged making them unfit for resale will be returned to the customer and no refund given. Goods not yet paid for will be invoiced accordingly.
Goods ordered in error
Provided you notify the Authorised Returns Department within three working days of receipt, Telephone Depot may accept the return of goods ordered in error. When this is agreed, all items must be returned as new complete with all packaging and instructions. If they can be exchanged for the correct products there will be no charge. If they cannot, a handling charge of £25 ex VAT or 10% of order value ex VAT, whichever is the greater, will be made. Should returns not be 'as new', with complete packaging and instructions, they will be sent back to the customer and a handling charge may be applied.
Goods supplied in error
If Telephone Depot supplies a product in error, it will arrange for the collection of the goods. Liability will not be accepted for products supplied in against a verbal order. Hard copy confirmation is, therefore, essential.
28 day money back guarantee
Should you not be entirely satisfied with the products you have purchased, Telephone Depot are happy for you to return the goods for either exchange or a full refund (including delivery) up to 28 days from date of purchase. All that we ask is that you return the goods in the condition in which you received them (full packaging, instruction manuals and unmarked). Goods returned with no fault found with no packaging or
damaged making them unfit for resale will be returned to the customer and no refund given. Goods not yet paid for will be invoiced accordingly.
Advance Replacements
Advance replacements will be issued at the discretion of Telephone Depot. All goods supplied are subject to our standard terms and conditions. Goods returned with no fault found with no packaging or damaged making them unfit for resale will be returned to the customer and no refund given. Goods not yet paid for will be invoiced accordingly.

WEEE Regulations
The Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK
law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection,
treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also
mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet
retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of
charge.
The amount of WEEE we throw away is
increasing by around 5% each year,
making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.
* Much of the UK's WEEE ends up in
landfill, where the lead and other
toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a
harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.
* Many electrical items that we
throw away can be repaired or
recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and
also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending
electrical goods to landfill.
Distributors of new Electric and
Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to
play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.
Telephone Depot is obliged under these
regulations to offer our customers
free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new
Electrical or Electronic product from us.
For example, if a customer bought a new
Cordless Phone from us we would
accept their old Telephone and prevent it going into a landfill site by
disposing of it safely.
Customers must return their WEEE item to
us within 28 days of purchasing
their new item.
If you wish to return your WEEE item,

Under the WEEE Regulations, all new
electrical goods should now be marked
with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown below:
Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after
13th
August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household
waste so that they can be recycled.
